RoadConscious — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

RoadConscious ("we", "us") provides a mobile app that warns drivers before they enter a time‑restricted road in London (bus lanes, School Streets, LTN filters, etc.) so they can avoid a Penalty Charge Notice. This policy explains what personal data we process and why. We are the data controller.

Contact / data controller: Infinityx Digital LTD, 3 Sheppards Court, Horsenden Lane North, UB6 7QJ, Greenford, UK. For any privacy or GDPR query, you can email us at support@infinityxd.uk.

What we collect and why - Data/When/Why

Precise & background location
  • Only while you turn on "Protection" (the alarm service)

  • To detect the road ahead and warn you before a restriction — the app's core function.

  • Performance of our contract with you.

Account details
  • Email address and name - When you sign in with Google

  • To create your account and manage your subscription.

  • Performance of contract.

Subscription status
  • If you subscribe

  • To unlock and manage your subscription. Card/payment details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store them.

  • Performance of contract.

Field reports
  • A restriction you flag, your GPS at the time, an optional name, and an optional voice note

  • Only when you choose to submit one

  • To improve data accuracy, and (if enabled) to reward valid reports.

Consent - Alarm data (telemetry) for designated field testers only
  • Where/when an alarm fired

  • Only if you leave "Share alarm data" on (you can turn it off)

  • To fix false alarms and improve accuracy.

Consent - A device identifier for designated field testers only
  • With telemetry/reports

  • To group your submissions and detect abuse.

  • Legitimate interests. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Background location — plain English

The warning has to work while you drive, with the app in the background and a maps app in front. So when you switch Protection on, the app accesses your location in the background. It is used only to run the on‑device alarm engine and (if you opted in) the anonymous alarm telemetry. It stops when you switch Protection off. Location is never sold or shared for advertising.

Who we share data with

  • Google — for sign‑in (you authenticate with your Google account).

  • Stripe — to take subscription payments (Stripe is the payment processor; we don't receive card numbers).

  • Our hosting provider — the servers that store the app's data, located in Germany and other locations within the European Economic Area (EEA).

These are processors/partners acting on our instructions; we don't sell data to anyone.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is active, then deleted within 180 days of closure.

  • Field reports / voice notes / telemetry: up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.

  • We keep only what we need for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or object to / withdraw consent for the optional items above. Email support@infinityxd.uk and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Delete your account/data: email support@infinityxd.uk.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to our systems is restricted and authenticated.

Children

RoadConscious is for licensed drivers and is not directed at children under 16.
